Learn to Play Hockey is a beginning, instructional program to teach girls and boys ages 4 and up to play hockey.  It is ADM compliant with a focus on enhanced skating skills, stick positioning, puck control, small area games, and an introduction to ice positioning. Skaters are required to wear: Hockey skates, hockey helmet with face shield or cage and mouthguard, elbow pads, shoulder/chest pads, neck guard, knee/shin pads, hockey gloves, and a hockey stick.

20 session Registration ($375 for this program)
Parents may register for this program as long as their child has had a previous learn to skate program.  This program is offered starting in October 2014 and is scheduled 2x/week on Saturdays and Sundays.

The schedule can be found on the Learn to Play Hockey Team page.   - Go to the "Team" tab at the top of this page, then "House Programs" and choose "Winter Learn to Play Hockey"

Everyone also must register with USA Hockey online at USAHOCKEY.COM prior to completing the Whalers registration; there is no additional charge for players up to age 6.  If you registered with USAH for our 2nd  session last spring you do not need to do this again for the 1st session this Fall as the registration is valid for one skating season.

We are only registering online at www.whalersyouthhockey.com this season.

Please check the schedule on the website for weather related cancelations or time changes at least weekly.
